I’m not sure where my love for food began. I do know that I have always loved to eat, and I have always been fascinated with the way ingredients are magically pulled together to create the dishes I enjoy.
Growing up, I mostly baked – cookies, brownies, cakes (I have a major sweet tooth). After I got married, I quickly developed my skills on the cooking front. I had a lot to learn – for example, I had little to no experience with raw meat. A huge thank-you goes out here to my husband, JW, for being my culinary guinea pig and for being willing to eat (almost) anything I put on the dinner table.
I started a blog called The Sharp Notes at the beginning of the summer, but quickly realized that my endeavor to simply keep in touch with friends and family was becoming more food-related than anything else. I have read and enjoyed food blogs for years, and I always love sharing both food and recipes with others. I have no “secret” recipes – if I don’t post a recipe for something and you want it, all you have to do is ask!
As far as our family goes, our two feline companions are Pirate, a very intelligent large black boy, and Persephone, a dumb-as-a-brick orange and white girl. They provide countless hours of both entertainment and headaches, but more than anything, they bring joy and personality to our home. We also foster for some of the local rescue organizations, so it can be rare (and nice, at times) to see only two cats around the place.
I look forward to sharing my life with you in the coming months, and hopefully years. It will be a pleasure to show you the dishes I love, and I sincerely hope that you find some you’d like to try. Enjoy!
